Del Real Foods Review & Giveaway

Disclosure: I received these product/products mentioned on my blog free of charge for the purpose of this review my opinions are my own and may differ from yours!

Our family traditions were first cultivated in a small town in the heart of Mexico. For generations the Cardenas family lived and thrived in the rich culture of central Mexico, but in 1970 they moved to the United States in search of a better future. They brought with them their love for authentic Mexican cuisine . . . to read more about Del Real Foods click here

I received a great package of Del Real Foods to review on my blog. First I want to introduce these pictured above they are pre packaged meals. I got 4 packages sent to me. The ones I got were Carnitas - Fried Pork, Pollo Asado - Grilled Chicken Leg Meat, Chicken Chile Verde - Chicken and Green Sauce & Arroz - Rice with Vegetables.

One night I made the Rice with Vegetables with the Grilled Chicken Leg Meat. I wasn't to found about the grilled chicken, but my husband loved it. I personally loved the rice with veggies me & my son gobbled that all up. I did pull apart some of the leg meat up with my son's rice and he did enjoy that, so he got his protein as well. I loved the rice it tasted like Spanish rice to me a little. I loved the taste there was just enough veggies in there as well. Very tasteful, yummy!

My son did a really good job eating the rice w/veggies & pieces of the leg meat that I pulled apart for him.

This was my husbands plate when he came home from dinner. He loved every bite of it!

The next batch we have are the Tamales I got Pork & Cheese & Green Chile
I wasn't to thrilled about these either so my husband did all the tasting.

My husband eating the Pork Tamales he liked them a lot. He did take one layer off of the Tamales so he could eat it because it seemed a little off we never ate one of these before so we thought that the top layer had to come off. It made sense anyways. He said there is just enough of the pork in the tamales. He said it tasted tasty, and he liked them a lot.

The third batch we got was Salsa de Molcajete Roja &
Cheese & Bell Pepper Pupusas. We didn't try the product on the right yet, but looking forward to trying them. The salsa is good for anything really. Still have not yet tried that either, but will soon. Thanks to my husband for trying out the other products everything seemed to be great and me I loved the rice the best out of everything.

  1. I won a Party in a Box from Del Real over the summer. The food was wonderful!!! I don't think I'm supposed to enter now, though, because I won from them before.

  3. I checked with Del Real and they said it would be okay for me to enter again anywhere I like (but I just like here) :-)

I have tried several of their items. I really love their tamales. They have a lot of meat in them. I also really like the shredded chicken. We made quesadillas and flautas with it and the kids really loved it. My daughter went nuts over the refried beans. And my husband and I love the barbacoa. Overall, I thought all of their food was delicious and so easy to make.

  4. I would love to win because I love Del Real's food. We have a lot of busy evenings after we get home from work, so it's nice sometimes to be able to just pop something into the microwave. If they've done all the work for the main dish, all I have to do is add a few extras like tortillas and cheese to have a complete meal.
