I was sent a book to review on my blog called The Lil' Defenders which is a cute book for kids ages 6 to 8 years of age and the grade level is 1st to 3rd. Everytime it seems when I choose a book for my son he always has his intentions as "I hate books" not sure why maybe because he is always wanting to do other things, but since summer is here and school is out I always try and encourage him to read for at least 15 mintues with me or someone else in our family. I know reading isn't the best but you'll be reading for the next couple of years while your in school I told him. haha!
As an author I would recommend really going beyond making the book cover a bit more engaging so people would really want to read this book and have that oh my gosh look like they really want to read it and my son didn't really have that connection with the book, but we did manage to read a few pages and this probably wouldn't be a book I would choose first for my son as a parent. I didn't really find the book amazing and the words are a bit long in paragraph for ages 6 to 8 you may have wanted to minamize a few paragraphs so it's not so long and dreading throughout the book when your reading it. I didn't like the litter bug villians in the story that are referred to as "thugs". We don't use that type of laungauge in our household so that is something that shouldn't have been brought up in; in the book in my opinion.
Don't get me wrong my son liked the book and about superpowers because he was telling me he wished he had superpowers. We were going back and forth saying which superpower we would like to have, etc.Overall I think it was a cute book but I did end up reading some of the other Amazon reviews and agreed with some reviewers what they had to say what I had said as well.
